Mike was born to Canadian parents while living abroad in France. He subsequently grew up in British Columbia until moving to Hanford, California where he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior.
Mike worked in government roles for many years and found himself more and more unfulfilled, paper-pushing at a desk before moving to Hanford, California to pursue a change of career in aviation. This career path proved fruitless however, given the events of 9/11 greatly limited flight time and job potential. It was at this point in his life that he listened to the Lord and quickly embraced his calling as a minister by attending Bible College at Bethany Divinity and Seminary where he earned his B.A in Theology.
With little ministry experience, Mike began by throwing himself into jail ministry before being called to a church where he served as a Youth Pastor for several years. It was there that Mike began his ministry at the Mission by bringing the youth to serve regularly.
In 2012 Mike walked into the Mission looking to volunteer and found himself being recruited as its Program Director before assuming the role of Executive Director in August 2013. Mike describes his role at the Mission as chief cook and bottle washer, but finds his greatest rewards in teaching the transforming love of Jesus Christ.
